As well. as being a qualified dog trainer, I am also a Canine Hoopers World Level 2 Instructor and Assessor.
Hoopers is a relatively new dog sport (similar in ways to agility), that is rapidly growing in popularity. Hoopers is LOW impact making it suitable for dogs of all ages from puppies aged 5 months upwards to senior dogs. Perfect if you want to perfect your handling skills with a puppy before going on to agility when they are older.
We will teach you to guide your dog through hoops and tunnels and around barrels. You will learn to start running mini courses gradually increasing to full size courses over time. You will need some level of recall* Please note your dog must be happy to work around other dogs and people.. This is also a perfect starting point for those of you with young dogs wishing to go on to agility as you will learn all the foundations of handling.
No prior experience is necessary just a willingness to have fun. We regularly hold in-house competitions with no pressure.just lots of fun to give you and your dog encouragement and confidence.
Would you like to do agility with your dog? , You will learn all you need to correctly guide your dog around a course and how to use contact equipment safely. Our jump heights include micro for tiny dogs. As agility is often highly arousing for dogs we can only accept dogs that do not become reactive towards other dogs whilst training, as you will be working off lead when taking your turn. You will need a reasonable level of recall. If you have a very young dog please start with our Hoopers classes which are low impact. For agility we like them to be 10 months old or over. We spend time giving your dog encouragement and confidence and will start them of on lower contact equipment before moving on to the full height. .
Classes are held on Wednesday and Saturday lunchtimes .
Do you have a new puppy or new dog in your family, or a dog whose training has gone slightly awry, but you don't have time to go to group classes?
Why not book 1:2:1 training instead? 1:2:1 training is available for problems such as:
Pulling on a lead
Jumping up at visitors
General puppy/ new dog training
I do not offer 'quick fixes' but instead I will work through the problem with you using reward based training to change the dogs emotional state making a much happier dog . I will take you through all the stages needed to achieve your goal of what you would like rather than what you don't want your dog to be doing.
Please note that this will require work at home from you as this cannot be learnt in just one or two one hour sessions.. At home and out and about training sessions are best kept short and frequent. So say 3 x 5 minute sessions a day rather than one big one hour session a week will work best.
A one hour 1:2:1 costs £40
3 x one hour sessions costs £110
5x one hour sessions costs £.175
Training will take place outside, either at your home, in a local park ( Morden or Nonsuch) or I have some availability to use my training venue in Cheam, on Wednesday and Saturday mornings which is Ideal for recall or loose lead walking training without distractions. Please note if you are only booking one session we can only start to deal with one problem such as recall as training takes patience and time.
Payment can be made by credit or debit card via invoice or directly into my bank account and is payable in advance before lessons commence.
Things happen in life that we are not always prepared for so should you need to cancel ,unless it is an emergency on the day or you or your dog are unwell, I will require 72 hours notice so I can book someone else into the space. Failure to give 72 hours notice or complete non attendance will incur a charge. If you do need to cancel on the day due to illness or an emergency please give me as much notice as possible from 7am onwards.
Please do.not attend if you, or any of your family have or are showing symptoms of COVID 19. Social distancing will still remain in place at all times.
For the time being, please bring your own dogs water,, leads, longline, and treats etc to the lesson.
Areas covered are Worcester Park, North Cheam, Cheam, Ewell and Morden.
Please note this is for general training problems only, for Behaviour Modification please see the Behaviour Modification page for the packages available.
All of our group classes are held at an outdoor venue using a fenced off area (with temporary fencing as you would get at dog shows/ agility competition) . This takes away any worry you might have about your dog running off. We train at Sutton and Epsom RFC Cuddington Court Rugby Lane Cheam SM2 7NF . For a map and directions please go to the class location page .
