if you are a beginner I can gradually introduce you to searching and tailor the searches for each dog depending on their ability.
On the first lesson I will go over how your dogs nose works, how incredible it is and how we start to pair using their nose to searching for a specific scent.
Using reward based training, we will start by teaching the dogs how to search , gradually building it up by layering the trails. By doing this we create confidence in both the dog and the handler. Once you have mastered linear( straight line ) searches we start to add in turns.
Once we have linear searches with turns being done with accuracy and confidence, we build in longer and more complex searches, using different terrain and eventually I will go into a deep hides this makes it harder for your dog to find me so they will use their nose more to search me out . I also teach crowd searches, utilising crowds (with their permission) and walking searches.
Walking searches could involve someone who has dementia or a head injury and is just wandering. For these we teach an indication , we use a sit in front of the person.
All of the searching is done at walking pace.although the dogs will often speed up as they get near to finding me, which is a natural thing to do.
We meet at different locations, so the dogs can practice in different scenarios once they have learned the basics. This also allows us to work on different terrain.
In the winter months we mainly use Oxshott woods and Heath as we have either side to practice or just along the road at the Oxshott side of Esher . These are dry underfoot as the ground is sand based .
In the drier summer months we use various locations Cheam, Epsom, Banstead or Nonsuch as well as the above .
I limit these classes to just 4 spaces. to allow for plenty of searches.
These are pay for your space not your attendance classes paid monthly in advance for however many weeks you are attending

Agility is a fast paced exciting sport where your dog navigates a course of jumps, tunnels , contact equipment ( A frame, dog walk and the seesaw) and weaves as directed by you . Agility is a high impact sport so requires your dog to have good health and fitness levels.

Hoopers, although similar in handling to agility , is perfect for young dogs or dogs who cannot do agility for whatever reason , as it is low impact. Instead of jumping, the dogs learn to run through hoops and tunnels and turn around barrels . The courses are flowing without tight turns. Young dogs can start at around 6 months old .
